Neuroscience reveals how frequent interruptions from notifications can fragment our focus and spike stress hormones like cortisol. Excessive screen time often disrupts sleep by exposing us to blue light, which suppresses melatonin production. Meanwhile, doing endless scrolls through social media can trigger comparison, envy, and a subtle erosion of self-esteem.
